From Cool To Quirky 6 Interesting Kickstarter Projects To Check Out

People tend to either love or have Kickstarter, but either way you have to admit that it’s an interest platform that gives people the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.

1. Kittyo

Do you ever wonder what your cat is up to when you’re not at home?

Thankfully, you can now find out by using Kittyo, a device that’s meant to not only monitor your cat, but also allows you to feed and interact with your furry little devil/angel.

The Kittyo is a stationary device that attaches to shelves and walls to prevent it from being toppled over by your cat. You can then use the Kittyo app from an iOS or Android device to keep your cats entertained using Kittyo’s built-in laser beam.

Additionally, cat owners will be able to dispense treats as well as monitor and interact with their cats through a built-in camera and microphone. You can also record videos in case you want to enter America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Perfect For: Crazy people like me who experience separation anxiety the second they separate from their cats as well as for regular cat owners who just love their ‘babies’ and want to provide some remote love.

Price: They still have early bird specials at $119, otherwise you can pay $139 which is $50 off the expected retail price of $189.

2. Runbell

The Land of the Rising Sun has brought us Hello Kitty, Pac-Man, energy drinks, anime and bagel heads. The next trend that it looks to bring us may come from a Kickstarter project for Runbell.

Runbell is a unique and stylishly designed running accessory for urban runners that’s been created to solve the frustrating problem of running in crowded areas where runners and pedestrians share the same path. Much like Pavlov’s dogs, people are also conditioned to respond in certain ways… in this case Runbell is betting people will move when they hear the sound of a bell (as seen in their Kickstarter video).

The accessory has been designed to fit a range of hand sizes and is made of brass, as opposed to aluminum, to ensure a crisp, beautiful sound.

It’s an innovative analog solution to an increasingly digital life.

Perfect For: Runners who are looking to navigate urban jungles or congested trails. Its sleek form, customizable grip, extreme light weight and beautiful style will become a necessary part of any runner’s gear.

Price: $25 for a single, $50 for couples. There are still a few early bird specials left for ladies at $20 and $40 for couples, but all the early bird specials for men are gone.

3. Anova Precision Cooker

Those looking to get in on the latest gastronomic craze or just tired of eating leathery steak and overcooked turkey need look no further. With the Anova Precision Cooker, you’ll be able to cook “sous vide,” so that you can achieve restaurant-quality dishes in your own kitchen.

Sous-vide cooking is slowly becoming more mainstream and Anova’s water circulating tools are often cited as the best. Anova’s Kickstarter campaign is for a smarter and more accordable version of their original immersion circulator.

While their new version comes with several noticeable improvements over the original, the most obvious is the product’s physical design which is slimmer, sleeker, and easier to clean.

Additionally, Anova’s Precision Cooker is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing it to be paired with your iOS device. (In the comments, some people are stating that there will be Android support and it can be controlled via WiFi, however the FAQ hasn’t been updated to reflect those statements as of this writing). No longer do you need to memorize the proper temperatures for different foods… now you just specify what food you’re cooking, the ideal temperature you want it, and then place it in the water to let Anova do the rest.

Perfect For: Food geeks or regular folks looking for nifty means of guaranteeing a restaurant’s consistency when it comes to cooking food.

Price: They have a few early bird specials priced at $145 and $149 for either white or black. Otherwise look to pay $159 for a single unit or get in on the early bird specials that they have for 2 Anova Precision Cookers, starting at $229.
